Portrait opposite
"Portraits Opposite" is a series dedicated to the people I encounter on the opposite seats in the subway. All the faces in the photographs are strangers, captured in their most personal and vulnerable states: they read, work, relax, communicate — all within the bustling environment of the metro.
Each passenger represents a separate life, full of stories and experiences hidden behind fleeting encounters that leave no trace. I am interested in capturing everyday, seemingly insignificant moments. Giving each fellow traveler a temporary existence and attention. After all, none of us will remain in another’s memory.
The black-and-white palette emphasizes the aesthetics of urban routine, allowing the viewer to focus on details that usually escape notice. There are no bright accents or dramatic effects in the frame; instead, there is the sincerity of human emotions and the simplicity of the moment. 2017 - 2025
